Be Still....

"Be Still" those words I often found myself pondering on many times in 2015, more so than ever before it seems. Those seemed to be some of the hardest words I have had to listen to from myself as stress, overwhelm, truth, and so much more negativity crept through my mind many times.

I have had to cut myself some serious slack these past few months as I have had a baby and things never go ever as planned with structure, timing and planning and I have had to learn that it's totally okay. I wanted to share what I would consider my word to be for 2016, or in this case phrase. "BE STILL" One of my favorite verses from Psalm 46:10. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;  I will be exalted among the nations,   I will be exalted in the earth.”

So many times I would let negativity creep in after having my daughter because here I was at a good point in my business before, after raising two kiddos already, I felt so overwhelmed with having to do it all over again. Many times I would say I just want to do this and follow my dreams, and make pretty things all the time. I realized that wasn't fair at all and that I can still follow my dreams while still raising my newest baby. I may still have to do it in the background, but I have done it for many years after working full time and part time outside of the house.

Sure, it may take some time still and I have to say no to a lot of things right now, but I am okay with that. These moments in life don't last forever, in fact they are over in the blink of an eye. Realizing that was the same exact thought I had when I decided to have one more child. I have to just be still and know God is doing everything he intends to do in my life at that moment, at every moment. Weddings will always be there, flower jobs will continue to come and go, commercial work will always there, but the devoted time I have with my kiddos and hubby can quickly come and go. I am surely okay with that.

If any of you reading this are feeling the same way thinking about the stress of balancing life, kids and a business I am right there with you friends. Be still and know that you are exactly where you are suppose to be. Do you have a word for 2016? I would love to read them in the comments below. Happy 2016 sweet friends.

March Goals

Where have the days gone? I know I missed last month's so this month will be a combination of Feburary and March :) Before you know it I will be back with April goals, ahhh! So without further ado unto March...

Work on website- Wow I didn't think this would be such a foreign thing for me. I like to think I am pretty techy but when it comes to websites I obviously have no clue. I will now be able to start putting my website together now that all the technical stuff has been set up! Greyson Design is getting a piece of internet real estate :)

Learn a new art- I am so excited to say I will be attending a calligraphy workshop taught by the lovely and oh so talented Molly Jacques. I have been wanting to learn this for awhile and improve my handwriting so I can write more lovely handwritten notes. Cannot wait!

Be intentional- This is a goal that has hit home hard for me recently. This is something my hubby and I have been talking about with our small group and at home. To be more present in our kids lives and our personal lives. As we all know it is already March, where do the days go? Our kids are 7 and 2.5 already and they are not slowing down any time soon. We have been wrapped up in running two businesses and remodeling two house, yes you read that right! Life is really full right now and to say the least stressful. I know that it is temporary and I am having to trust God even more now. I want to be more intentional in my personal life and present. Life is too short.

Finish Sales License Information- I set this goal for January but it has fallen to the wayside. I am needing to finish just a few more things with this but will be involving my lawyer to make sure nothing is missed. My plan is to finish this this month :)

Start Power sheets- A few weeks ago I mentioned I was attending the MTH conference in Chapel Hill this month. Sadly, to say the least something has come up that I have no control over and have had to forfeit my spot :( But you can be assured I will MTH2014. Because I am not able to attend the conference I did order the power sheets from Lara Casey. I feel these will help me get a jump start for next year and really put my business into perspective. This will definitely be an April and possibly May goal too.

I know this is an big ole list but it really has been helpful for me to put my goals out there for you all to help keep me accountable. Happy Friday loves :)

MTH 2013 ♥

Oh my heart  ♥, yes I know I say that a lot lately. But I truly, honestly mean it. Never had I imagined almost exactly 1 year after I returned from the Dreamers into Doers event in NYC, that I would be setting out on another remarkable adventure.

I have so many emotions running through me right now as I embark next month down to Chapel Hill, NC to attend the MTH conference. I am so excited to reach and ignite the fire that is burning inside of my should with other amazing individuals and the AMAZING women who put this successful conference on year after year. Is it possible to have so many feelings wound up inside of one person that they feel they may just explode? This is normal right?

I can wait to share with you all my experience with this event and what changes will come from this. Not only to my business but to my life as well. I am ready to set this industry on fire and Make Things Happen in 2013. Stay tuned to see how it all turns out. I am beyond blessed!

January Goals 2013

Well, you know what they always say better late than never :) This year I am really trying to share my goals monthly with my fans. I feel like this will be such a positive thing for my business and really help keep me on track more. Every month I will be posting my goals, so you can see what I have been working on, and working towards to say the least. Here are my top goals for this month. Not only do some involve my business, but also my personnel and spiritual life. I feel like having and seeing goals written down really stimulates my thinking and drive. I hope you continue to follow along with me monthly and give me a kick in the pants if I fall off the wagon from time to time.
This was a hard month for me to say the least. Not only is it flying by, but so many obstacles have seemed to make their way in. My family and I got blind sided with a mean case of strep throat. We are in the process of renovating our basement at our current house, and have started full house demolition on our new house. We have about 3 months to say the least before our house sells, and have to have the remodeling done to move into our new house. I will actually be having the process blogged, more to come on that soon!
Since, January is half way done I have made progress notes beside the goals for you to see where I am. I have had these goals since the New Year, just a little late in getting them posted. So with no further ado, my January goals...

1. Laugh more- No explanation needed
2. Sing in car more with kids- a must!
3. Start reading The Circle Maker- Started reading. Such a great book you can find here
4. Get resale license paperwork sent out- Got the paperwork, now to fill out and send it :) Have I said how much I dislike state forms!
5. Start basement remodel- starting Saturday
6. Paint more watercolor- very soon my dear!
7. Work on branding- attempting this weekend :)

I would love to hear some of your goals as well. You can leave them in the comments below.
